Common Questions
How does the publishing process work for kids?
We guide your young author through story planning, manuscript review, and final book design through our program portal. You and your child will log in to your own personal Book Project portal to learn about the book writing process, access printable worksheets, and upload your story materials. Once completed, we professionally print a high-quality hardcover keepsake book.
What is included in the Gift Upgrade?
More fun and grandiose than a standard E-Gift Card, this is a great option for gifting the book publishing experience. When selected, the child receives in their home mailbox a package containing a personal invitation on official letterhead from our publisher, inviting them to publish their children's book idea. The premium package also includes a personalized acceptance certificate, login instructions and credentials to their Book Project Portal, color printouts of the portal download materials, brainstorming book with pen, bookmark, and fun sticker.
How long does it take to receive the finished book?
Typically, the process from drafting to final printing takes 4–6 weeks, but varies depending on the child's pace and our expert review cycle.
What about illustrations?
Authors can upload their own artwork for each book page, or have our team generate custom illustrations based on the author's illustrative ideas at no extra cost.
How many pages are in the book?
There are 35 pages of story text and illustrations in our custom keepsake children's books. This gives you enough room to tell your story and helps the printer create a strong, neat book. For some young authors, this might sound like a lot of words to write. But remember that many childrens books have only a sentence or two on each page, and some pages can be full illustrations with no words at all. Meanwhile, other children's books contain long paragraphs and complex details. Your young author is in control of their story!Â

Can I purchase extra copies of my child's book?
Yes! Additional copies of your custom book are available for $25 each. If included in the original order, shipping is free. If purchased after your original order is fulfilled a shipping fee of $10 per order will be applied.
